Value meets duo.
Palette Pals is Hitanshi Watwani and Ashmeet Bharaj. We are two artists who work as a pair on everything, from a single carved door panel to a wall that takes a fortnight.
Working as a duo is not just faster, though it is that. It means one of us is always holding the brush while the other is ten feet back, looking at the whole wall and saying the uncomfortable thing. Murals go wrong at the scale you cannot see from arm's length.
We paint flat, and we paint raised. Some of what we do is pigment: pop-art canvases, café cityscapes, folk motifs, line drawings dense enough to take weeks. Some of it has no colour in it at all, like a plaster wave that only reads when the afternoon light crosses it, or Lipan mud relief lit from behind so the letters throw their own shadow.
We both graduated from the Government Institute of Fine Arts in Gwalior with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, and sharpened it further at a month-long intensive at the Samsara Academy of Arts in Hyderabad. We work out of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, and travel for the wall.
Knowing which a room wants is most of the job. That is the part we will be honest with you about before you pay us anything.
Range, not a house style.
We deliberately do not have one look. A dental clinic and a cafe should not get the same wall.
Flat murals
Pop art, illustration, cityscapes, folk motifs and line work. Interior and exterior, at any scale you can reach.
Sculpted relief
Plaster, carved panels and Lipan mud art. Texture that changes through the day as the light moves.
Live painting
Weddings and events, painted in the room while it happens. Finished and handed over the same night.
Teaching
Workshops for teams, groups and complete beginners. We have taught people who had not held a brush since school.
What you can expect.
You get a scale drawing on a photo of your own wall before anything is painted. You get a fixed price, not an hourly one. We bring our own materials, protect the room, and clean up properly.
We will tell you if we think the wall you have chosen is the wrong one, or if the budget does not match the idea. That conversation is free and it saves everybody a month.
